    Default Can’t buy a deer

Seems like they only wanna show up when I’m not there right now. I’m beginning to think they don’t like me.

    Had to stay sharp so:

My buddy did that once, except he severed the leg, squirrel ran up the tree beside him. Said he watched squirrel bleed down the tree. I don't think he shoots at corn eating squirrel no more.

Used to carry two field tipped arrows just for that till I speared one across the brisket and it ran off with my arrow. Never found either....

I like to shoot them in the backyard for target practice at different distances, it really helps for judging distances quickly in the field

Waste of a good squirrel when you could kill them with a dog instead

No shit. It's like shooting a wild flushed quail that the dog never pointed, or worse, one that the dog busted.

Full disclosure: I often squirrel hunt without a dog, since I no longer have one, but it's with a rifle and it's head shots only....and I eat what I kill.
