    Default Yearly Lease Inquiry

I’ve done clubs for the past couple of years and went back to hunting my land this year. We have plenty of deer but neighbors put so much pressure on them they are more skittish than ever.

Anybody got a piece of property they want to lease me? I’d even be open to having the owner be able to hunt it as well. I just need a change in scenery. I have already gone the forester route and have put the feelers out.

10 to 25 dollars an acres , depending on location. Small acre tracts demands high dollar and harder to find. Find a tract you like and Lease it out from under the previous year lease owner. All timber Co is a year to year lease, up the money and get them to sign a multi year lease

Every time I find one through the timber company it’s too big for me to be able to pull the trigger.

Bobby- how many acres you got now?
My 43 acres had 8- 8 points and 2- 10 points and numerous smaller bucks at the beginning of the season, along with plenty does and was fine until the rut and then all bucks disappeared onto the bigger surrounding properties. I shot 2-8 points and 1 hog this year, still have plenty of does and hogs and 1 hammer 8.
I barely hunted my property and it seems like October 10 was the cut off for daylight sightings.

If you are going to lease a spot you really need 150 acres per man of good land.

big enough for 2 with light pressure
    I live on my 43
I hunt 2 clubs each with an average of 200 acres/hunter- it seems like 200 acres per hunter works well. I usually can shoot a deer- does 70% bucks 30% ( I consider that a successful hunt) almost every sit.
One is a still hunt club- the other a dog club.
Lots of good clubs in your area, but that area doesn't have the numbers that other areas have- try looking toward Bamberg/Orangeburg/Williamsburg county.

I was in a great club in Wagner. Had a ton of deer and hogs. I’d love to find 100/200 acres I can lease and lock the gate and have it to myself.

How many people are hunting your 460 acres? And how often?

4-6 people. Pretty much on the weekends. The stand I sent last night has them and sat in over two weeks maybe a little bit longer. Neighbors corn does the mess out of there stands early season. A lot of their stands are near the property line. Their tracks are smaller so I don’t fault them for that. They’re just trying to kill deer like we are.

deer are born skittish. its not your neighbors fault.

and all bucks are grouped up and you think you own them until they do what bucks do and they go somewhere you dont know about only to get shot or not.

that is all i have to add to this thread.
Ugh. Stupid people piss me off.

I have got in touch with my buddy about someone leasing and he said the owner tried it before and it was more hassle than it’s worth.
