    Default Meat Grinder?

Did a search on here and found a few threads but all of them were 5+ years old. The Northern Tool Kitchener #12 is no longer available.

What's the latest and greatest? I typically kill 3 or 4 deer a year and that's it.

    Thanks

Amazon has plenty in a variety of price ranges with tons of reviews. I'm running an STX with no complaints.

I'm in the market too. Was looking at the $150 STX on Amazon last night. Think that's where I'm headed.

That is almost exactly the model I have. It does fine. Foot pedal is a must. It actually stuffs link sausage really nicely. I've run about 12 animals through it now and it hasn't slowed down. Cut your meat into "strips" rather than chunks if that makes sense. It will feed better.

I have a cabelas grinder that was in the bargain cave in rock hill a few years ago (before they changed manufacturers). It works great. I agree with Rodney on the foot pedal, especially if you are solo when you are using it. I use the $15 one from harbor freight.

I ended up getting the LEM Big Bite #8 (0.5hp). It will be here tomorrow.

Gonna do a batch of breakfast sausage over the weekend. Anybody got any seasoning recipes you care to share??

Leggs... add sage and red paper to taste, use fresh sweet onions...not the dried crap.
