    Default Infection

My son shot a deer a month ago with bow that lived.

He shot it with a rifle today. It has a pus pocket where arrow was.

    Should we eat the hams?

You should be able to see/smell where the localized infection is. Cut the hams open along the muscle seams and pull out the lymph and anything white. If it don't look good don't eat it if it do look good then do eat it.

ALL of it, or just the ham with the injury?

Just curious, what the heck was the arrow doing back in the ham?

    Nice deer.

White spot was original arrow wound. Pus lined the whole blackstrap.

Yard man wanted the deer but we decided against. Gave him one last week.

Had the arrow been in the ham, the deer would have been dead in <50 yards...and that's a fact.

I'm glad he put down the bow and took up the rifle. That's a nice buck!
