Default Show me your Bug Busters

Anyone have a Bug Buster, Falcon or similar 14-15’ boat? I’ve seen some around but not many nice ones.
I am really considering one of these but would love to see some pictures if anyone has one.

Trey Elrod has the molds for fast craft and builds them in batesburg leesville. Any hull thickness and a couple different styles.

Are all the Bug Buster styles the same layout?
Anyone have one around Conway who wouldn’t mind letting me take a look at theirs. I hate wasting anyone’s time but I haven’t seen any for sale that are kinda local, so it’s been hard to tell if I really like the layout and size of them.

they slap 90's on both. A 50 will scoot on a bug buster. I had a stock 40 merc on a 1503 and it would run low 40's with not tilt and trim

    so could I get away with a 25hp on a 1503 ? I think I would be fine with high 20s, low 30s

Ive had 50, built 50's, 70 and 90 hp engines on multiple 1503s over the years....50 is gracious plenty for the average folks...70 had no more top end but more power(gearing changes when you move up to the 60/70) but the tiller 90 was the way to go if you wanted to play as well as work.

    I wouldn't even begin to consider a 25 on a 1503...maybe on a 14Super V it would be serviceable at beast

There should be a bug Buster or fast craft on every corner in Conway

yea unfortunately that is my budget right now.. but I really want to step up to the 1503 size though. so I am trying to figure out what the smallest motor size I could put on a 1503 so I can understand what my total cost would be.
If i go with a 1503 I would have to buy boat now and motor later but I am in no rush so I just need to find the right boat first.

My boat is the 14’7 falcon. Early 90’s model. You have to run a short shaft on it. I had a 40 evinrude on it first with hydrologic tilt assist. It would run upper 40s low 50s with just me and no gear. Then I put a Johnson 40 on it. With a cmc electric t&t. I redid the hull at that time and didn’t shape it true plus added a lot of glass weight. It ran about 42-44. I went through 4 different lower units with those motors total so I decided to buy a brand new engine. I went with the 30hp tohatsu 4 stroke. I get 31 mph either alone or fully loaded. I would of gone with the 40 or 50 hp, but I didn’t want the extra weight because it’s scary when you come off the gas and you have a big wave come into the back of the boat. I’m over those days. It floats nice now and gets me there.
