And they are old school Methodist.

And I should say the church I described above in my previous post is considered baptist.
Good for them for getting rid of the youth pastor. The church and church leaders are the mentors for youth people seeking Christ. We as people overlook sin in our lives and others but the church should not condon or accept it.

This is how a lot of those non-denominational churches start. Pastors are run off from denominational churches when they start becoming liberal and then start their own church with no denominational standards or oversight. This youth pastor and her followers will probably start their own church where "anything goes"!

No fan of Newspring here, but that could have just as easily have been Trinity Episcopal in Columbia or First Baptist of Laurens...

A suit and tie isn’t going to get you into heaven. A true Christian would welcome the creeps and pop music wear what you want crowd with hopes they find Christ too.

It’s a shame that churches can be a place where parents/kids can’t feel safe from sick predators like this monster. There is a special place in hell for people like him

Nah, we had angels like Ms. Geddis at Trinity.

Easily the most sensible post in this thread so far.

That guy will will take his own life in prison within the first year after all the butt-raping and abuse he will take for being child-molesting scum. Count on it.

Yeah, but we also had D Pipes who would have grabbed the first one you showed him. At least he liked older boys who knew better...

Exactly!! Guarandamntee you the denim made him do it. Stuff like this doesn't happen in khakis nor pinstripes.

Not only that, but you won't catch this going on in denominational churches. You won't find predators like this in Cathol...nevermind.

It's funny how people wear what they want to church and yet they dress nice at events and other social gatherings to impress who they feel is important. Is God not important? Why would someone wear a tux to cotillion to impress a bunch of stiffs but not want to look nice in the presence of the Lord?

There is no butt raping in prisons. If so, the "victim" becomes a millionaire when they win their lawsuit against the prison for not keeping them protected. Jails have all kinds of inmate rape standards these days.

Was Jesus wearing a suit when he walked the earth?

I'm pretty sure if you're a Christian you're always in the presence of the Lord. The church house is just a gathering place, nothing more.

So no need to be reverent? Do you wear play clothes to meet the governor, the president, a CEO?

People like this need to be locked up for 1 or 2 years to give them time to think about their actions, time to repent and get saved then hung on the courthouse lawn.
