Well I'm pretty sure they're an .080 gauge boat, so I'd pass. If you want a 15 or 16 footer, buy something 100 ga

Your boss knows about one that’s been through some shit, at the time with a Honda 25. I’d say it held up well considering it was just a .080 hull and a heavy 4 stroke on the back

depends on the load.......just me and the dog 24-25 mph with a busted up prop, me the dog and decoys probably still around 20, add a person and its still 18-20, but do NOT go 3 people a 75 pound dog and decoys

I had the same boat is was a 1544 DD Alumacraft. I had a three-cylinder 30 HP Yamaha that was bone stock. With that setup, I could do 25-29, then load three grown men and decoys it would still get on a plane with no issues. That 3 banger Yamaha is legendary but it might just be that extra 5hp and torque is the difference. Full disclosure, the day I bought it I put closed cell foam (like house construction board) in the bottom and an aluminum floor in the bottom. then I took it to the Rhino Liner dealer and had the whole inside and rails covered before i ever mounted the motor. So that added some weight but was well worth it. I sold it many years later and the liner was still in great shape. I enjoyed that hulls sharp nose in the timber. MG
