Default Duck Report Georgetown and Samsworth? Anyone seeing anything?

Just wondering if anyone is seeing any birds around rice fields or South Island ferry?

According to a buddy of mine they are there but they ain't. I ain't saying that they are though. 'Course, the way I hear it maybe I just wasn't in the right spot. Heard someone else say they could be elsewhere and I tried looking there but didn't see 'em. Maybe the birds were where I was and not where I was going. Turns out they weren't where I thought they'd be but where I wasn't thinking very much at all. So I drove on around the corner and wouldn't you know it, 2 coots and a buffie jump ship and tuck tail. Thats where me and the boys set up. Nothing much to show for it unless you like the ole scissorlip variety. They was thick in that one spot that I ain't mentioning on a public forum on the account of the birds could be there or not.

This was all a couple years ago though.

    Hope it helps.

ETA: I’m sure there’s at least 1 out there somewhere. That special one. The one that you can’t live without. The one that makes you happy. The one that you want to bring home to momma.

I’ll bite because your getting pissy. Why would anyone in their right mind on a public forum say where birds are. People in this state will drive hours to hunt ducks. Why would anyone want to screw up thier own spot. I don’t even tell my best friends where I kill ducks if they were not with me. Come on man what did you expect.

Give me a legitimate answer why someone would answer your question seriously.

Wow obviously nothing but children on this forum! The title of the forum was a place to check in! I never asked where anyone’s spot is I just asked if there were any birds around!! I’ll leave the post up for a bit and see if any adults show up to actually give me some valid info.

stop at the icehouse in gtown, buy about $20 worth of gas. Drive south across the bridge and put in at south island ferry. Spend a couple hours burning up that $20 worth of gas and staring through some binos and you will get a far better answer to your question than you will get on here

Go look for yourself. It’s that easy. Even if there was birds there, you probably wouldn’t kill any anyways. You don’t even know how to scout. You’re lazy. Don’t come up in here expecting someone else to throw you a bone. With that said, go hunt there, pass shoot yourself some hooded mergansers and a wood duck, and then come back in here and let us know how it was.

You are still asking if a specific area has birds. If anyone confirmed that there were indeed birds in that area then half the members here and the majority of the lurkers would be making the drive to go hunt them. I just had a talk with my son this morning because he posted a pic of some birds that he and some buddies killed yesterday. There are way too many cyber scouters (you included) that use forums such as this to figure out where to go. There aren’t enough ducks in SC to share locations or information with the general public.

I told my son that posting kill pics was fine, as long as it’s done after the season is over! Unfortunately that is what public duck hunting has become these days. There are way too many duck hunters and way too few ducks in this state these days. You have to do all you can to find birds, shoot them, and keep it hush hush if you want to consistently have decent hunts here. Even then it’s hard to do!
Living in Moncks Corner but looking forward to moving back to the West Coast in 2020 where there are more ducks and less duck hunters!! LOL

^This exempt you have to go at high tide to see any ducks besides the occasional buffle head or merganser. You got to be able to see over those dirt mounds!

Wow! Sorry I hit such a nerve! You guys are touchy and tough behind those keyboards! I’ll make sure to never ask anything on here never again! And don’t worry I will be back in here with more than just pics of mergansers and a wood duck! Hope when I grow up I can be just like y’all jerks to everyone!
