I have heard them called by the name of "Mergangsters" before. However, I do not think it was a reference to their frail nature.

We didn’t do terrible overall though. Also got these four.

Ol mercruiser! I tried to shoot a drak when i first started hunting ducks to put on the wall. Unlike their female partner they always seemed to take shot after shot and by the time they were retrieved they were un mountable. I gave up and havent shot one ine close to 20 years.
Side note i had a guy in college want a duck. Floated a river one morning and shot a hen mercruiser. Plucked it and it smelled like i cleaned a 50lb flathead. Took it to him next day. Asked him following day if he ate it. He said Hell no, i put that thing in a pot and it stunk up my whole damn house. Dont think ive shot one since
