Default Warmest Non Itchy Base Layer

I have some 15-18 year old UnderArmour that's pretty doggone warm, but it's always itched. Looking for warm and comfortable. Any advice?

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

I have had this setup for 15 years and I can promise you it is quality stuff. Guarantee it's as good as the Cabela's product.

Was wondering if it was just me. I hate my UA bases. Itch like heck.

Great luck with the first lite merino stuff. Long walks in causing sweat is the enemy with cold weather gear. That merino stuff does a good job of pulling sweat off you. First lite brand is high, but the fit and quality are top shelf. Between deer and duck season I’ve put some hours and washes on them and they are holding up great.

If you park the 4 wheeler and walk 100 yards to your stand save the money and go with something not made of merino wool. Just my $.02.

I have some Patagonia Capilene that is running 30+ years and is still warm and like new. Have some Cabelas midweight that is my go to in the 10 year+ range that is standard equipment. I bought an extra set when the Bass Pro deal went through before it all turns to shit...

There's a Cabelas in Fort Mill that I went to almost daily but it has, as you said, turned to crap. They are trying to put lipstick on the Redhead pig...

    Rubberhead said cameltoe. LOL

I hate tight fitting base layers. I like a good quality pair of wader pants. I have the Avery pair that work pretty good.

Its the only Patagonia thing I own and I would agree its the best on the market. Backcountry skiing, late season duck hunting, it will keep you warm, and also keep you cool which is more important during exertion in the cold.

I have capilene also, it's one of the only thing that is not all natural. I wear a lot of cotton and wool, those newfangled fabrics bother me.
