Has anyone cut a persimmon? That's the only way to truly know.

I'm not aware of any way to read the blackbirds for snow, cold / early winter, or anything other than first frost. There may be a way to get this information from the blackbirds, but my father never passed along a formulary for divining anything other than first frost.
