Agreed. I've been watching it the last few days and the weather is laying out perfect. The big ones stand up below 40 and we'll end up with several highs right around that mark. I can't wait...

Post-rifle season deer in Kentucky are the spookiest deer that I've ever seen. Granted, I've hunted them late December/January after the muzzleloader season, but I've had them pick me off 25 ft in the air from 250 yards across a bean field. Blew my mind. But, i've been told by some in the know up there that you can kill a giant late season over corn. As you indicated, they just say you must put out a ton of it....literally 300 or 400 pounds at the time in one spot, keep it there consistent, and they will come. You just need someone local you can trust to feed them and not kill them until you can get there.

I'm headed to Wisconsin again for the gun opener this Saturday. Nephew got a nice 12 point from my stand a couple weeks ago with a long bow, so hopefully there will be more nice bucks around.

Just got back from Kansas and Ohio. Killed a nice one in Kansas last Friday and they were just starting to chase. Killed one in Ohio yesterday and the rut is definitely on in full swing. Saw more chasing the last 3 days than any year for the last 7 years we have been going. Temps should have them stupid this week.

Hunted hard all week and we saw a lot of deer but not one worth dragging a mile. The weather wasn’t great. Rain, wind, snow, melting snow....loud woods all week.

Nice.... That's a recurve, not longbow.
    Good luck in cheese country.

Been on good deer everyday, just waiting on the right one. This is definitely different hunting strategies out here . Beautiful country did get to shoot some pheasants and first time killing a turkey in the snow, but the rancher was happy he got a turkey for thanksgiving and yes it was shot with a shotgun at 25 yds
