    Default Hallman Farms

Has anyone done business with Hallman Farms Wildlife Nursery? I am looking to plant some different varieties of trees this winter and came across them. Are there any nurseries closer in the Pee Dee region? The plant supply locator site isn’t working for some reason.

Hallman not Gallman. If an admin could change the title that’d be great.

Great people, very easy to deal with. I bought some trees from them about 3 years ago and am thinking about buying some more this spring.

Is spring the best time to plant new bare root fruit and nut trees?

later in fall, the dormant time, is best planting practice to reduce shock. allowing the tree to establish a good root base by before spring green up.

never really understood why stores always put out trees for sale in the spring time, but you dont see many at planting time... guess to take advantage of the uninformed consumer.

You're likely not going to find bare root trees available in "late fall," at least not from Hallman's. January-late February is going to be your best bet.
