    Default Canada 2018 duck hunting

Made it back from a couple weeks in Canada. Started off with 16" of snow on the ground and lots of water frozen. Saw some really cold temps and a couple days of high winds. Chinook winds one day blowing warm then freeze your ass winds from the north others. Another great year of hunting and seeing friends across the border. Salina did us another fine meal Asian style with our ducks and some friends donated pheasant moose and mule deer. Her meals are outstanding and pics won't do them justice but I'll add some nonetheless. Had the pleasure of having a couple guys hunt with us as they normally do each year again while one who has been ill couldn't make any hunts. He is a great guy and has been on dialysis and is too weak for the hunting right now. Another friend (she is like my sister) has West Nile virus. She has her good days and bad days as well and didn't feel up to tagging along any this year. She did however cook us a great meal and that was very much appreciated. Duck numbers look great up there. Several fields we were hunting/scouting had as little as many as 2000 mallards using. Bittersweet to leave. I have enjoyed all my years up there and can't wait to get back again next year.

My yellow dog day z made her first trip north with us this year. She performed.

Somebody made a little error on ground hardness assessment

And I made a a screw up one morning as well lol. I even looked over and said yep, that window is up. Guess not

I caught this guy trying to snag the porcupine that got hit and every time he'd run out in front to grab it he'd get pricked but kept coming back for more. I kept thinking is the juice worth the squeeze?? Or maybe that's the dumbest yote ever.

This is one of the cooler photos I have taken. Double rainbow

And then there was this one..

Watching that pup hold tight in the blind with mallards walking in the decoys is priceless!
