    I'd shoot it on principle.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

Bad genes ??...Debatable I guess...I'm not a certified card carrying Wildlife Biologist, but I do have more insight than most.

This I do know...Had a doe on the farm some while back that was easily identifiable as she was about 90% white...My wife named her "Daisy" for some reason...Made me swear not to ever harm her...For 5 years she brought up twins every summer...None of the twins ever showed any abnormal coloration patterns...Don't know whatever happened to "Daisy" as she just didn't show back up one year...That's been about 15 yrs ago and have never seen another piebald on this place until just today.

On another note, if I culled everything that I could invent an excuse to cull, my tags would have run out a long time ago....

    Plus, it's too damn hot..........

Yep...2 mated recessive genes can throw a leucistic fawn...It's a documented 1/100 occurrence anyway...If the animal shows no additional signs of abnormality such as Roman Nose or curved spine or legs, why would you burn a tag on it ?

I'd say the occurrences on my farm are less than 1/100 based on the number of deer I've seen or have photos of that are "normal"...

What’s up with the Roman nose. I shot one yesterday with a Roman nose. Smallish body so I gave him a pass. Walked up under me and I saw that. And then I said, you do that again and I will keel you. At 10:30, an hour later, he got keeled. What’s the significance of a Roman nose

A Roman nose is nothing more than a generally thought to be abnormal shape to the nose that bridges or peaks if you will in the middle as seen from the profile. It is purely genetic however and can be highly exasperated with abnormal genetics such as a piebald.
