And under $200 no less. The boards around the opening need to be replaced due to termites but all in all couldnt be happier. Got bungee brush straps on. Now for the flip open doors and it will be ready to disappear.

Nice. I’ve got a similar one I picked up earlier this year.

Got a little glass work to do, but should be ready soon.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

    That'll be floating death!

Consider netting or cloth vs flip doors. Flipping doors open will flare the birds faster than just flipping netting off you.

I bought one of those off here that hasn’t hit the water yet. Just been in storage for years.

Glass work is alot easier to do in warm/hot weather. Do wait for cold weather.

Got doors framed/attached and started grassing. Gotta get more raffia and decide how i want to go about covering doors. Im also going to make them spring loaded so that with the initial opening, they will open the rest of the way on their own.

I have used both flip doors and cloth to cover up. Flip doors are the way to go. I understand they fair the birds but I don’t flip them open till it’s time to shoot so who cares

Got some more grass on her. Looking around at ideas on flip doors. Found my old windstopper for my quick set blind that i never put on. Just a matter of cutting, attaching and grassing that now.

    Looks great.

If you’d rather not cut up the quick-set blind, go to the fabric store and get either some lighter weight cordura nylon or some nylon flag material. I used brown flag nylon for a windscreen on my boat years ago and it worked great.

Maybe a trolling motor depending on how hard it is to push it with a push pole chasing birds. Primarily be used on a private hole that his too deep to wade.

Hobby lobby. That is a total of 12 hanks at $6.99/each. Compared...the Avery stuff is atleast twice the price depending on where you get it. Laid them out and took some reddish brown flat rustoleum then went back with some dark brown camo rustoleum. Went to the hole to scout yesterday and somehow matched the grass i will be hiding in almost exactly. Was planning on adding some of that as needed while hunting but i doubt i will have to until the birds start getting really pressured.
