    Default Henry Single Shot Rifles

Looked at them several times in person and read a few online reviews. Everything I've heard about them so far has been positive. I'm planning to pick one up this week, most likely in .308
Figured I'd check to see if anyone on here owned one and had any insight they'd like to offer.

Really do not see where you can go wrong with any Henry Rifle, top notch from what I have seen

Love my Golden Boy 22 and honestly looking at one of their new lever action 308’s as well

    TPrice,
Check out the Browning BLR before you buy. I think the Browning has a little smoother action

Picked one up yesterday, Shot it 4 times this afternoon.
First shot was high and left and the last two shots were on the orange. I'm going to kill a deer or two with it like this before I put a scope on it.
it's nice to see a quality 100% American made product at a decent price

    bumping this back up,

put a scope on this week,Leupold 3x9x50 with firedot, dry fired it once or twice and trigger seems a little heavier than I remembered. Internet research tells me a single Grainger #31 spring is the fix. The gun currently uses two springs ( one nestled inside the other). Most folks reported very pleasing results but a few said they had light primer strikes (light strikes seemed most common with cheaper ammo) and said putting the smaller henry spring back inside of the Grainger spring made it stout enough to get a good strike but still helped the trigger compared to using both factory springs.

just curios if anyone on here has messed with these triggers any and what were the results?

If you can get the trigger and hammer internals out, I’d polish the piss out of them.

Got any tips for polishing the trigger, never attempted that before. I may give that a shot in addition to the spring

Thanks to RRConductor and a conversation we had about a week before he passed I was able to make some good improvement on the trigger today.

I had already replaced the factory spring with a Grainger replacement but he suggested I cut some of the coil off of the spring. Started a 1/4 coil at a time and ended up taking a full coil off. Based on a trigger scale it’s down to about 2.75lbs, big improvement over factory setting.

If anybody has one of these guns and wants some Grainger springs to play with let me know. I had to buy a pack of 10 and will pass them along free of charge to anyone that wants to try them
