    I would not think that cooking does a lot to remove heavy metals.

    My BIL wrote a paper and worked a study where shrimp were combusting when they hit air because they had such a high content of sulphur... in Charleston, late 90s.

    I seem to remember it was phosphorus and from the mud, not the shrimp. That section of the Ashley River had fertilizer mills when I was growing up.

    but dont let me stop a good, uninformed debate on ridding the world of heavy metals...

    ^i know, right? I mean...the article was like three paragraphs long. It could possibly be too much for some of these people but most should've been able to stay focused the whole time....

    They tested less than 40 fish and less than 40 fillets. I don't mean to discredit MUSC research, but I almost feel like the news might be putting a "fantastic" spin on it.
