    Thanks,

2000 big bear 400. The center of that tire was only sitting about 1” on the tailgate. To be honest its not much different now in my F150 with a 5-1/2ft bed.

Cleaned up the dash and got the radio operational.

If any knows where a junk Tacoma is please let me know. I need a tailgate. There's no saving this one.

Seems like I saw one on Craigslist the other day they were parting out.

There's an fan right under the glove box, that one could be pretty nasty. I need to try to tackle the one in mine again.

I need to check on that fan, I guarantee mine is chalked full of red clay dust. . I am utterly amazed at all the places that stuff has infiltrated. It's everywhere, even in parts that look completely sealed.

I went on a Toyota forum looking for different odd things. Mine is a 99, and it was mentioned those could get pretty nasty. I've got a striped screw in mine, and it was hot as balls when I tried to work on getting it out. So I lost patience. I would think you have the same one, they look easy to take out, and I saw some images on how dirty they can get. It's a blower motor.

Worked on the driver side rear this afternoon.
Little body work and a some sanding.

Two coats of primer/sealer, then some color to make sure it's what we want. I let my 8 year old pick it out since I told her it's going to be her first ride. She helped do everything except prime/paint.

With almost all the weekends being cold and wet, I've only been able to prime/seal the door jams and the hood. I did pick up some 08' wheels on the cheap and mounted the tires to check the stance. Looks ok, I'll really know once I put the fenders back on.

If anyone knows how to fix the plastic guides that control the fan position, please let me know. Mine gets hung up trying to go from the floor to the dash vents. I can reach down and do it manually.

Sweet taco man! As for the vent actuator I recommend getting a used one from junk yard. I got one for my 4Runner for like 5 bucks. It was a pain to change though, ended up laying upside down in the seat 0E5C96AF-8E11-408B-8204-C7585A64F48A.jpg

Actuator works fine. There is a set of plastic channels that the door/gate moves on. One of these channels has a 60 degree turn in it right before it gets to where the "Dash" position is. Mine gets hung at the 60.

Finally got some nice weather to get some work done.

Found a small crack in the paint with a touch of rust in it. Someone decided a 1/2" of body filler is the proper way to fix a dent. Water had gone through and caused rust under the filler. Cleaned it all out, pulled out the dent and skimmed it.

    Primer/sealer on the panels.

    Put on some color.

Still have some spots to clean up, but should be done with the body shortly.

Pretty much done except for some paint touchups and the tailgate (still haven't decided on it yet).

Took it for its maiden voyage this afternoon and was fairly impressed with the little 3.4L. Should be a good little truck for years to come......if I don't get bored with it and sell it.
