Makes sense, I suppose. I would be more concerned with any open wounds I had on my fingers/hand while knuckle deep in a wild animal rather than my fingers hurting. I've worn plenty of gloves while skinning deer.

The dudes that are up there and clean them everyday wear gloves. I don’t, and have never asked them why they do. There has to be some chance of catching something cleaning that many birds with open sores on your hands.

My plan is to keep my blood alcohol level right about 50/50 so nothing wants to live in my body anyway

not looking for specific locations. I'm not "that guy" didn't know if he went with a guide or what part of the county he was in. I've spent a great deal of time in and around southern Ontario, my wife's family is from up there. Just trying to iron out all the kinks on how to cross the border with firearms and licenses needed to hunt while we are there in November. We have to go for a baby shower and was hoping to get in a hunt while there.

You’re going to Canada for a baby shower? Is it your baby?

We flew in so we never crossed the border with them. Hunting licenses are $193 Canadian and are easy to find. There are plenty here that drive across annually. I’m sure they can help.

    Good luck

Fill out a firearm form. Pretty simple. Myself and a friend flew in and another drove. Same process both ways at customs.

Make sure you get all the permits!!!! Trust me.

Send in that form more than a week ahead of time and you’ll be good.

I got re routed through Ontario once on the way to Saskatchewan and customs guy looked at me like I had two heads when I told him I had preregistered my guns. Even after I gave him the form and he called Customs in Saskatoon they still made me fill out some other form on the guns. Said they don’t precheck in that Provence and he’d never heard of it. Damn near missed my flight because of it. Maybe it’s changed? Happened like 3 years ago. I’ve been going a long time.

I've flown to Canada with a firearm twice, by no means am I an expert. I showed up with the form IslandGuy posted a link too, and have had no issues what so ever.

I did not preregister and somewhere on the site says you have to sign form in front of customs agent. I think when you preregister you do the same but have to go to chas airport (or wherever for customs) to precheck. My buddies left yesterday and I am pretty sure that is what they did this time. He texted me this am “Made it, its freezing!”

"We avoid Toronto like the plague, FYI" I hear you! Only 60 miles away but it's a whole nuther country.

"Correction. That was Winnipeg. " It's mighty cold in Winterpeg brain cells freeze out there hence the strange behavior.
