    After the midterms, Sessions is gone to be replaced by Lindsey and McMaster will appoint Haley to Senate.

    Also, how do you know it's not the other way around? Maybe pence don't like him, but has the discretion not make a big deal out if it.

    You're correct; I don't know. But if Pence doesn't like him, he should play poker, because he hides what he's holding like a pro.
