    Default Tractor Hours

Would 1,200 hours on a 2007 30hp 4wd Kubota with a gear transmission be considered "too many" hours to look at buying if I could get the tractor at a really good price? The tractor would be used as a "hunting" tractor mainly tilling food plots and bush hogging.

As long as it's been maintained I'd jump on it.

Maintenance is key and if it's taken care of go for it.

1200 hrs on a 2007 is barely used as long as they maintained it. I would jump all over it. We trade tractors every 1-2 years with 2-3,000 hours on them with plenty of life left but run hard. That many hours spread out over 11 years wouldn’t scare me off. Plus the older Kubota tractors are solid.

Are you sure 30hp is going to be enough? Not sure size of your fields, but I would worry about that more than the hours.

Just for reference, I got my first tractor a couple years ago. I'm a weekend warrior/hobby farmer. I put about 150 hours on mine in the first year just using it one or two days a week on weekends for mowing, deferred maintenance, food plots, ect. Now that I'm somewhat caught up on the deferred stuff, I'll probably be around 100 hours per year.

My best friend has a 50hp Kubota that we use. For the types of land that I have the 50hp it just about too big. I'd like to have a 40-45hp. I'm just looking at the 30hp because the price is right if there isn't anything wrong with the tractor. It's kinda a buy what I want and pay 3x as much or buy the 30 which will do everything I need at 1/3 the cost.

Get it. Like others have said. If it’s been somewhat maintained then it is just getting broke in

I would go without the 30 then for sure. I too put about 100 hours a year on my tractor.
