That is probably the worst display of wing shooting fundamentals I have ever seen.

I was in south Texas a couple years ago, hunting Chachalacas. The local that was helping me out said nothing from these pictures has changed.

It's like golf. It ain't how you drive, it's how you arrive. Or, like how that feller caught that football on T.V. the other day.

Looks like the Cutts Compensator was popular in the day.

I know people shoot the s*** out of them in Mexico. I've only shot mourning doves down there though.

There is only four counties in Texas where you can legally hunt Chachalacas. I got three while I was there. Also shot a two bird limit of White Tipped Doves. The doves, stay in the brush and fly like quail. They don’t fly in fields at all. 2B9F1214-E85B-4C9D-A3AC-1AD83AD461E3.jpg

Chachalacas. Probably next to the Himalayan Snowcock, they are the most geographically isolated of the 75 Game Birds of North America. As I said earlier, only four counties in Texas where they can be legally hunted. Look up a video of their calls. Wild sounding, loud birds.

Bear is that white tipped dove anywhere close to what we call a rock dove here? Never heard of either one of these. Good stuff!

Nope, nothing close to a Rock Dove. White Tipped Doves, stay in brush and thick cover. If they come out into the open, it is just to feed, and they don’t get very far away from cover. When you jump one, they fly almost identical to quail. Very quick, and only go a short distance. Their range is mainly the Rio Grande Valley area. You’ll see them some outside of that, but not much.
