how far y'all shooting?
Only out to 835 at this spot.
Kevin’s 6BR is an absolute hammer.
It was boring to shoot that rifle off a tripod at 1100 yards
Why the covers on the muzzle break? It looks cool but I know it has to do something.
Maybe hold down heat mirage off the suppressor?
So you don't get burnt, and what TennDan said

As someone who rebarrels guns I love the 6mm craze.
I do find it interesting that the 6.5 killed everything competition wise. Then the 115 came out for 6mm and is killing the 6.5. Now a 160gn 6.5mm is coming out and will kill the 6s. $$$$$

I know it's not polite to ask but what is a ballpark total cost for the first rig on in the picture? One of these days, I may scratch that itch and commission the build of a dream rifle.
The chassis on the rifle he is holding is $1600-$1800.
160 grain hunting bullet have been around for awhile, but they are round nose. I loaded some for a sporterized Arisaka my son has. I haven't seen the 6.5 heavies catching on. 140ishngrains is the sweet spot for the Crredmoor and x 47s case capacity.
6mm have and will be will be around a while. George Gardner was kicking ass with a fast twist .243 long
before PRS went mainstream.
The guys that actually win shit don't change much once thy find a combo that works. It's the guys that think a new rifle or cartridge or scope will move them from the middle of that pack to top ten that constantly change stuff. They are a gunsmiths wet dream...
I was just wondering about the 6.5 creedmoor coming out with a heavier bullet because I shoot the 143gn hornady precision hunters now out of my savage. Figured the 160gn would be nice for pigs. I have shot them in the neck and dropped them in there tracks with no exit wound and have shot them in the neck and it knocked them down like they where hit by a train only to kick around and get up and never be seen again with no blood trail. But it could be my shot placement. The way I shake shooting at 100 yards there no way I could hit the stuff you guys shoot at.
Hornady and Norma make 160 RN bullets. They penetrate like crazy at modest velocities and the Scandinavians have killed the shit out of moose with them for a century in their 6.5x55s. They would be a very good hunting bullet in your Creedmoor but it would have to be handloaded. A modern bonded 140 grain bullet like the Accubond will do the same and is available in factory ammo.
Ya I don't reload so I have to buy factory. Griffen suggested the precision hunter. And they have worked great. The gun is stock with a DNZ game reaper mount and a vortex viper hs 4-16x50. The gun and bullets are more accurate than I am I'm sure. But I'm shooing more so I hope to get better.
The 160s that I speak of will be Berger and Hornady VLD and eld. They won’t work well in the CM and 6.5-47 for the reasons FLS stated. They will be home the magnum based rounds on long actions or single feed due to OAL
