    Default Early migrators

Are the gadwall and shovelers suppose to be down yet? I had 20 greys and 1 shoveler circle the dekes today, but no teal in sight. Also,I thought the shovelers dont fly alone.

Few years back I had multiple groups of gadwall and pintails land in the decoys during teal season in the delta.

Seems to be no rhyme or reason. Funny how some bwt blow thru on their way south in September and then you kill blue wings on a frigid morning here in January.

Like Cajun said.... ducks gone duck.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

I see pintails and shovelers every September. Never seen gadwalls.

There was a few of both hanging with this bunch, but luckily no screw ups.

Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

We winter a good many on the coast, but the big January flocks are Southern Hemisphere birds heading back up north.
