Advice for scope for Ruger 10/22

Gentleman

I have a Ruger deer field 10/22.
I would like a red dot or Holo type scope for it.

Of course this is at very best a 100 yrd gun. More like 50 yrd.
I have a conventional 4 x scope on it now and it will clover leaf 3 shots at 50 yrds. I'm actually very surprised at it's accuracy.

I just want a dependable , real quick pointing , quick target acquisition scope.
Like "oh crap black bear " quick

I really like the Bushnell rain guard on scopes.

I'm looking at $300 max if possible.

I'd appreciate your thoughts.

Do you plan on really shooting a bear with this? Asking for a friend of course.

Whatever dot scope you look at, you'll probably be happier with one that has a 1 moa dot. Anything bigger covers too much target for cloverleafing. You're going to need extremely precise aiming to stop that bear.

I had one of those 44 carbines and wish I had never sold it. They are sweet little close range guns.

Burris or Vortex. Call Sumtoy and get him to make you a custom mount for the rifle. He may have one that will fit the existing scope mount hole pattern.
