"Trump Hits A Grand-Slam at UN"

Not my words, Rush's words. But I agree. If any cares you should listen to what he said.

    From Limbaugh:

Rush: I have to tell you, folks, President Trump just hit a grand-slam home run at the United Nations.

In everything he touched on and everything he spoke about, he had… I never thought I would ever see this! He looked ’em right in the eye, and he told ’em why socialism and communism are abject failures every time they’ve been tried, everywhere they are. He looked ’em right in the eye and told them everything.

You know what did not come up? Not one word, not one syllable, not one reference to climate change or global warming at the United Nations in the speech by President Trump.

Rush: Okay, folks, you gotta hear this. This is Donald Trump today at the United Nations. You know, I have a pretty good memory. I don’t remember hearing this this way. I know we’ve had presidents go up and provide lip service in attacking the Soviets back during the Cold War. But taking on communism and socialism, using Venezuela as the real-life example of the horror — the sheer horror and terror of socialism and communism — with a bunch of communist dictators in the room, a bunch of tyranny experts in the room? Donald Trump — without a raised voice, without any bombast — let them have it.

THE PRESIDENT: Not long ago, Venezuela was one of the richest countries on earth. Today, socialism has bankrupted the oil-rich nation and driven its people into abject poverty. Virtually everywhere socialism or communism has been tried, it has produced suffering, corruption, and decay. Socialism’s thirst for power leads to expansion, incurring, and oppression. All nations of the world should resist socialism and the misery that it brings to everyone. In that spirit, we ask the nations gathered here to join us in calling for the restoration of democracy in Venezuela.
RUSH: Man, that’s just the tip of the iceberg. His entire speech at the U.N. was perfection from beginning to end. In tone, in comportment, in morality, perfect. It was a grand-slam home run. Even the Never Trumpers — who I think are the most dangerous Trump critics out there. These Never Trumpers on the right, even they cannot poke holes at Trump’s behavior in this particular address.

If you find it bothersome that room full of idiots laughed at Trump about making sound rational decisions to run the country. You may just be one of those idiots.

    that's the spirit, santee.

I just happen to be able to look at things objectively. I am not a "never trumper" nor do I think his shit does not stink....

So, you are going as far as to say that the United Nations is a "room full of idiots?" How long have you had this opinion of the UN?

Trump got laughed at! Do you realize that? He even commented that he did not expect that reaction. Its like you are backing someone who knows he got laughed at. How does that make ME the idiot?

It's a shitty look to say the least, but to be expected in a room full of despots, and globalists who've been fleecing the American taxpayers for decades. Mutual admiration society is all they are. He's upsetting their apple cart.

Toof I am sorry if I called you an Idiot. I had a weak moment.

I could write pages of info about the un but I do not have time to serve you up the klif notes about the organization or its agenda. It is your job to be in the know. The leaders of other countries make op the UN. The majority of the countries in the world are at the moment are being run by Idiots.

Trump has been laughed at plenty of times. Just like all the folks that laughed at him when he said he would run for president. Let them laugh its ok. Trump is not perfect but he is the perfect man for this job.

I don't understand why people are slamming this speech so badly. He got laughed at, addressed it, and moved on without interruption. The content of the speech was excellent. They may be laughing at him but they can't laugh at the speech itself. Unless I'm confused he reaffirmed clear boundaries for doing business with the U.S., made clear the defense of our personal freedoms, denounced communism, socialism, human trafficking, unjust conflict and migration, and ended by thanking God for the glory and grace afforded to us all. Am I confused? People are acting like this is the greatest public failure of our time and I was proud of the representation.

Far cry from leaders of other countries coming to speak at the UN in our own country & tossing threats at us. Screw them. The UN has been a disaster for the U.S. It has been a welfare ticket for all of the countries that hate us.

They laughed when his gargantuan ego proclaimed that his administration was the best in the country's history. That is quite a boast considering his coziness with Russians.

Nervous laughter is always a reaction from someone about to get their ass whipped.

If they cheered him and patted him on the back, he would not be doing the job I hired him for.

i have no problem with dissecting the UN in a negative way (from the US perspective), Santee. I was hoping to bait you into more about them....

BUT, you cant pretend that people that lead other nations are "idiots" bc they have different views and values. You must admit they tend to be very bright people with a firm grasp of reality and foreign policy.

I think its extremely important to be aware of stereotypes. More often than not, there is a bit of truth there. The laughter was after the comments he made about all the wonderful things he had done. I can agree that the economy is strong but we just havent seen the affects of Trump's policy just yet. Its silly (laughable) that he would use this audience (the idiots at the UN) to flaunt his tenure.

i'm not slamming the speech. i thought it was great.
I am only pointing out those that must spin the laughter into a positive. Its just not.

I voted for him. I like most of what he has done. What bothers me is that he is clearly out of depth on many global issues and he lacks the intellectual curiosity to get up to speed on said issues. What REALLY bothers me is his ridiculous insecurity. This manifested early on when the inauguration crowd size had to be the biggest. He is a former reality TV host and he thinks in terms of ratings. He loves the rallies because that is what he is good at and everyone there loves him. The Twitter rants about how unfairly he is treated, etc.
I hope and pray this trade war plays out well without disrupting the economy. BMW sales down 35% in first quarter. All of our biggest corporations are feeling the effects. Caterpillar, Harley, John Deere and the list goes on.

Yea I didn't mean you specifically. I just see and hear everywhere how monumental of an embarrassment the speech was. The laughter wasn't positive - was too bad really. But I felt it was only a footnote of the speech itself.

A lot of Americans felt the effects when their jobs were being outsourced to cheap labor countries.

No doubt. The decision has been made. We have no other choice now than to stay the course. Just keep in mind that the course will likely run decades and there are a lot of companies and farmers that do not have the juice to go that distance.
