Default Natl guardsman home burglary while on assignment in NC

I normally don’t feel overly inclined to donate to gofundme’s but this one caught my attention this morning. Ppl are screwed up!!
They have hit their goal, but I donated anyways.

I hate it for him and have empathy for his situation but there are choices he made, that if he would have made the right choice it wouldn't have resulted in him having to resort to the charity of others to make him whole.

    Insurance.

    Damn
    Yup, he's crazy...

like a fox. The dude may be coming in a little too hard and crazy but 90% of everything he says is correct.

Sort of like Toof. But way smarter.

Maybe during the next storm he can tell everyone that he was going to help the same thing so he can just stay at home.

That's stupid and baseless as it pertains to my remark.

These guys don't have money for insurance. They barely have enough money to get by.

    You're a dickhead.

You sure about that? One of my best friends is in the Guard and seems to be doing very well.

    You're a dickhead.
Thanks, coming from you I consider that a compliment.

Just for giggles, what are some situations you would find it acceptable to take charity?

Listen, I never said people shouldn't help the dude out if they feel inclined to do so. That's between them and their pocketbook. While I clearly stated that I have empathy for the dude and his situation but in this instance, I have no inclination to donate to his GFM account. I just made a blunt, straight forward observation regards to the simple choices he made to protect, or not to protect his personal property in the event of loss.
But since you want to ask questions and just for" giggles", what choices have you made to protect your property in the event of a loss. Are you going to be looking for charity to make you whole again?

Or better yet, why don't you go on over to GFM and click on the little button thingy and send the guy a hundred bucks. Once you're done donating then you can check back into SCDucks and we can play shits and giggles some more. Until then, STF.

You sure did write a lot for someone who didn’t answer the question.

I stroke a pretty good check to St. Judes every year.
Donated to a few SCD member's GFM accounts over the last few years.
Given my time to help the elderly clean up their yards and do basic maintenance on their homes.
Delivered Meal on Wheels for a few years.
    Participated in river clean ups.
Gave away $50.00 Walmart gift cards to young families at Christmas time. Just walked up and gave it to them in the store while they were checking out.
Bought games of checkers and dropped them off at assisted living facilities.
I anonymously pay for meals for the elderly, military, EMT and LEO members while in restaurants.

    What do you do?

It’s okay, we all say things we shouldn’t from time to time.
