Default End of Life Vehicle Disposal

Well it is the end of an era. My 1995 S-10 4wd ZR2 has reached the point where it is unlikely that repair makes sense. The automatic transmission is toast. Suddenly began slipping in all gears including reverse and the pan is full of metal. I was quoted $1900 to pull and rebuild this transmission. Aside from the transmission, paint, and front bumper, everything else on this truck is great. I bought it brand new in 1995 and it now has approximately 140K miles.

What is the best way to get rid of this truck and get some money out of it? The tires are almost new.

Junkyard trans and sell it for $1000( assuming you can swap it yourself). Otherwise sell the tires separate and get what you can for the truck as scrap.....A 20 yr old (non-toyota)mini truck just doesn't have much value.

So for a few grand you could get another 150,000 out of it? My 03 1500 Sierra has almost 370,000 on it. I replaced the motor and transmission with a low mileage used set at about the 250k mark and put a cheap paint job on it. My nephew will get it in four years as his first ride.

I need another project like I need a hole in my head, but I also need a beater. What do you want for it?

I sent you a PM. I have not yet fully decided to sell it. I still need a beater truck too.
