    Default Snake identity

Not a big snake guy but I’ll let a black or corn snake live 80% of the time. Never when they are trying to get in my garage though......like this guy

1ft long and about as round as a Sharpie

Timber rattle? I’m terrible at ID

Rat snake. Good kill. They prefer birds and eggs over rats.

I caught one the other day unwrapping some mesh to wrap a deer stand in. I let the kids play with him before they turned him loose. You should’ve gotten your wife to catch him for ya

What about venomous ones? Do you kill them too?

I tend to lean toward not killing any non venomous, and I only kill venomous around stands, house, etc. some place they might meet me or my dog multiple times.

I did stomp a baby eastern diamond back walking from the stand the other night. Sorry you tender snake lovers!

The whole reason a rattle snake has rattled is so that you know to kill it. If it’s poisonous and I can kill it, it dies. The only time I know there was one around my house, I wasn’t there. Ex and oldest son came across a coral snake raking under a magnolia tree and watched it slither off into the shrubs. I looked for that snake for a couple of hours with machete in hand.

No snakes are poisonous. You can eat every one of them and not die.

You ladies would have a melt down if you saw all the moccasins pushed out and about by the rising waters.

Best idea would be for y’all would be to hunt under the buddy system at least til the water drops and the pit vipers finish breeding.
Have your buddy drop you off directly at the foot of your stand. Call your buddy have him pick you up at the foot of your stand.

It’s a crazy world out here right now, and I don’t want any of you getting hurt in these rugged times.
Be proactive about improving public waterfowl habitat in South Carolina. It's not going to happen by itself, and our help is needed. We have the potential to winter thousands of waterfowl on public grounds if we fight for it.

Best idea is for them to stay home and play their video games like good little snowflakes.

It was commanded by the Lord our God, that man and the beast which slithers on its belly, shall have an adversarial relationship for eternity, as consequence for tempting Adam and Eve into committing the first sin. You snake poets would be wise not to forget this, lest you be mistaken for worshippers of the silver-tongued, fallen angel, known as Satan.

I'm way more likely to kill a black rat snake than I am a copperhead.
