    Default Browning Dura Touch

I’ve got a Silver that my dad bought me about 10 years ago that the Dura Touch has failed and is extremely sticky. It has been like this for 3-4 years now. I see where this is a common problem with this stuff and there are even lawsuits out there over it.

I’ve also seen where Browning has replaced a few but wanted to see if anyone has any experience with it. If Browning won’t replace I’d like to find someone that would completely redo the gun for me.

It’s one of those guns I’ll always keep because of where it came from but I’ll also use it a lot.

    Thanks in advance.

My sx3 did the same and started peeling. I took mine all off and redipped camo. I called winchester and they told me to send it in for warranty claim, but never did.

I don’t have dura touch on my bps, but years ago the coating they used on the trigger assembly started peeling off. I called them and they told me to send it in. They either recoated it or put a new assembly in it.

My Black M2 is doing the same thing. I wiped all the sticky crap off of it with acetone and just let it ride.

I’d rather pay $200 to have it dipped than go through the headache of sending it back to the factory.

I have a gun with dura-touch that did the same thing. I called browning, spent some time on hold, described the problem, and shipped to them. They redid the gun in the same pattern and sent it back. Very easy process. Took about 3 months from state to finish. I should have gotten the new blades pattern though!

I plan on sending mine to Carolina Custom to get dipped anyway. Not messing with the factory. Plus, they don’t have original bottomland.

I have heard that you can make a paste from baking soda and water and rub it on to remove the sticky part. I have never tried it, but it might be worth a try.

Call Browning, they will atleast send new stocks. I had 2 golds that were doing this. I called Browning and they told me it would be about 8 months turn around. They offered to send me stocks. I got the stocks and took the guns to Anthony

They'll cover it under warranty. I sent my SX3 in, and it took them a little over a year to return. Not convenient but it gave me an excuse to buy another gun. To their credit, they did offer to replace it with an SX4.

    ^^^This

Mine is the old shadow grass camo and I’d like to stay that route. I’ll see what they say. If not I’ll try to get to someone to dip. There really is t anyone in the Aiken area that does it anymore to my knowledge.

Shipped mine to Browning today. The customer service rep was very helpful but could not give an estimate on a turn around time.
