If possible, shoot them before you buy. Can’t really tell how you’re going to like a shotgun until you put some rounds through it

I've shot a Benelli SBE 1 and 2 for years (since 1996) and they have been great guns, never failing. My buddy bought an A-5 a couple of years ago and I really like it a lot, but maybe not enough to forsake my Benelli. Point is, I think you can't go wrong with either gun.

    Benelli SBE.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

You dead set on a B gun? You just want to be one of the cool kids or are you considering other options?

Benelli, I have been shooting a SBE 2 for about 10 years now. Don’t pick up the SBE 3 unless you are ready to buy it. It is a very nice gun built to be used and abused.

All of this. I bought my SBEII in 2008 and it has eaten every type of shell, taken all the abuse imaginable, and killed a multitude of creatures across North America. It continues to do so as recently as a limit of doves Wednesday. It has never failed. I'm also not sure it's ever been really "cleaned".

I'll take a Japanese made Browning Auto 5,
3" magnum with a 30" fixed modified choke and outkill all of you.

I've had two A5's and an SBEII for years now. Killed many of critters and put almost any shell through them all that you could think of. Never had a problem with either. I tend to favor the balance of the A5 though.

The new A5 brought me back to Browning. Gave my SBE IIs to the kids. Both are killing machines with equal comfort and ease of use. Wouldn't turn either down............
