    Default Bow for Wife?

My wife is very interested in starting to Bow hunt. We went and had a Lesson at the local pro shop and the guy giving the lesson was great but had to leave early, he was retired and just did this for fun. We had a hard time getting anybody to help us after he left which stinks for them because we probably would have bought a bow. My wife's draw length is 25". I was looking at a bow that had alot of adjustments to # and draw length as i can see her getting a new bow later on and passing this down to our 6 year old. Any reccomendations are appreciated for what i should be looking for. Thanks

I could make a recommendation if you were down this way, but I'm of no help to you up there. I would recommend finding a locally owned archery shop, and start there.

Maybe the resident cat doc can help you out. He says takes credit cards and cash, and I believe he has a litter of his own to keep food on the table for.

I think Blakely had a great rig for sale in the TP here recently. Decked out and ready to do work for a great price.

    eta; found it.

Mathews makes one that has multiple length and weight adjustments. I bought 2 for my girls and it grows with them. I’m sure your wife could go with a bow specific to her length and draw but it would make a great “starter” bow and passed on to your kid when/if your wife wanted to upgrade. I think they were about 4-450 ready to shoot/hunt with.

The Bowtech Fuel may be a good bow to look at and can be picked up cheap.

If you want a great Pro-shop, check out Hunter’s Headquarters in Greenwood. It’s worth the drive. They sell Mathews, Mission, PSE, Bowtech, etc. DO NOT go on a Friday or you may be there all day as they juggle customers. I bought a Mathews Z3 and they set my nephew’s up for him. You can’t go wrong with a Mission (which is made by Mathews). The Bowtech in the trading post would also be a great bow. Don’t bargain shop because you get what you pay for in a new bow. I started my 12 year old nephew with a Barnett Vortex for $160. It has cam modules and isn’t worth the time or money. He maxed out the weight based on his draw length in about three weeks. I then bought him a Mission Craze II and he’s just about ready to hunt with it.

Nice! I fondled the Triax and liked it but the price tag made me like the Z3 a little more.

Hunters headquarter or jeffery’s. For those that have been both places?
