I've owned that jenn-air for thirteen years, it's all stainless. I've replaced the burners and grates only once.

I honestly don't even know if they make these now, if there can be a best gas grill.. this would be my pick.

Cast iron pan is all you need and it definitely makes a difference for blackened fish.

PP-you cant cook fish long enough on the BGE for it to taste like smoke.

so, the question is thus: How can you actually fuck it up? I'm thinking its sticking to the grates? Do tell....bc it really cant be this hard and I know your brain works (most of the time).

certainly, you can follow the tfc/scduck/OGPturkeyhunt/jtmartin dove club crowd and get a blackstone, but then I would make more fun of you for the rest of your life and its probably not worth it.

I think R's point is it doesn't have to be smokey, so there's no benefits to it.. Therefore why not have something easier that the wife can crank up if need be.. Or, something you can walk out there and click on like an oven.. without having to cook inside, but not be a glorified griddle.

What’s with all the blackstone hate? I would think all you Waffle House-loving fools would be drooling for your very own smothered and covered maker.

Maybe not, but everyone secretly wants to make their very own onion-soy sauce/teriyaki(?) volcano-train whilst simultaneously doing a Chad Smith impression with a spatula and a filet knife.

You must be using cheap spices. Toofer can put you in contact with good spice people. They even send out emails to let you know how dumb some people are.

Best way to grill fish is to coat it in corn meal and grill it in peanut oil till it floats.

Make sure when using the BGE with fresh lump in it, you let it burn down some to get rid of that initial strong smoke. Once it burns down you should be good to go. This goes for anything you cook on the BGE.

I grill fish all the time on my grill. Same as steaks and ribs or whatever. I grill mainly striper and salmon. The key for me is spraying olive oil on the grates when you place the fish and also before you flip'em. So just get any grill and go at it.

as to HS' point....I agree that firing up the BGE aint worth it for the 4 min it takes to grill a decent fish fillet.

and the blackstone hate group is very small....

Sometimes you just have to not like something, just for the little things.. like not wanting to feel the pressure of having to have another cooking toy.
