    Default Weekend Music Playlist

I know most of you monkies listen to Ke$ha, 2 Chainz and Luke Bryan but you really should consider listening to the Marcus King Band's album from top to bottom this weekend. It is solid, no duds in the bunch. I know not everyone likes southern rock and blues but this 19 year old kid lays it down. Now don't ask me how a 19 yr old red headed kid has the blues, but it is great. Enjoy, MG

Have seen him opening for JJ Grey at Pisgah Brewing. MCB plays there quite often - good bunch of musicians, for sure.

Marcus shreds on the guitar and is doing big things, Warren Haynes has taken a strong liking to him and has helped him get to be where he is now. He's sat in with some great bands such as Tedeschi Trucks Band, Widespread Panic and Phil Lesh & Friends

Might be the most soulful white boy that ever picked up a Gibson .

Went to high school with Marcus. I knew of him, I think he was a few years younger than me. A nice talent to come out of the upstate even tho I'm not much on his music.

Well their songs are 15 minutes long, so that's only like 4 songs a cd.

I'm just waiting for someone to ask him what those plastic boxes are.

Marcus King Band is playing in Charlotte tonight at the Charlotte Metro Credit Union Amphitheater opening for Gary Clark Jr. Should be a rocking show from both of those bands. MG
