    Default Accurate Ordnance 6.5-284

I bought my dad a Remington 700 years ago with plans on ditching everything but the action and having AO do a custom build. Dad finally made it happen.

    Rem 700 action
24" fluted Brux Barrel #5 contour chambered in 6.5-284
    Manners EH2 stock
    Trigger Tech trigger @ 2.5lbs
    Cerakoted Graphite Black
    Tally Rings
    VXIII 4.5-14x50 scope
    143gr ELD-X

    It shoots

    That’s a good looking rifle.
Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.

After a lengthy discussion with Mark and Woody, 6.5-284 is what they recommended. Dad shot it 3 times Saturday at 100 and had one ragged hole. Those fellas know how to build an accurate rifle.

6.5X284 is excellent long range cartridge. Wins about everything at 1000 yard matches now.

I took a less expensive route and made mine in 6.5X06. Gives same velocity window and brass is much less expensive and feeds from a 30.06 chamber without action modification.
