I recently moved from South Carolina to Florida. I intend on moving back to South Carolina in the next 3 years or so. I will be doing a lot of hunting and fishing in both States over the next couple years and I'm wondering about the legality of transferring ownership of my boats and motors over to my dad (SC resident)while I'm down here to avoid the aggravation of getting everything retitled in Florida and paying those registration and titling fees. So I guess the question is will there be any problems with me "borrowing my dad's boat" for a couple years and then moving back to South Carolina and getting the title put back in my name?
Also I bought a long tail while I was down here in Florida. What is the legality of me using a long tail that's not registered in the state of South Carolina as a Florida resident? Should I just transfer ownership and let the long tail be registered in SC as well?
I know this Probably sounds a lot like I'm just trying to be difficult and "Stick it to the Man" but I just really don't want any difficulties with DNR in either state and also don't want to have to go through changing my title over multiple times back and forth from moving.
Any personal experiences or insight is welcome
