I still have heartburn over this. I mean when you buy equipment it does have terms of use agreements but there seem to be practical limitations that tractor companies are not willing to allow. Even after th eLibrary of Congress gave a special copyright exemption for hacking tractor software the companies change terms of use agreements making it illegal. At the vey end of this short documentary the farmer makes a statement that he has tractors that are forty years old that are still capable of doing the job but he wonders aloud if his new tractor will still be running in ten years with all of its software and resctrictions at any price.
Hard to believe farmers are getting sued and tractors are being remotely disabled for hacking software to repair a tractor you purchased that is out of warranty. you decide. MG
