    Default Furniture repair and restoration

Does anyone know somebody that will repair a dining room chair for me?

It is not going to be a simple repair, so I need someone experienced that you would be comfortable sending a really nice chair to. It was my grandmothers and is part of a set and is not replaceable.

I would prefer Columbia, but would travel.

I’ll have to take a picture of it, but basically top of the chair is ripped off/broken. There is a biscuit in the center that has pulled free and the two side pieces are broken too. Two pieces of wood have also popped off from the break.

Imagine holding a chair with Both hands and having the top come off.

My dad is a woodworker too and it’s beyond what he’s comfortable taking a stab at.

I second Kings. I've never used him personally, but my FIL builds furniture, and he's recommended King to people in the past for different repairs.

Kings looks good, I’ll take it there.

I’ll post a before and after picture (assuming he can fix it).

Colonial Woodworks here in Columbia. They do excellent work on just what you are looking for. Ask for Steve Brantley https://www.colonial-woodworks.com/

    Ok, Update.

I took it to Colonial and they did a pretty good job considering it was pretty butchered up.

Steve Brantley at Colonial Woodworks. 803 254 7519. Over on Beltline, 2 blocks west of Two Notch. He has been doing just this for over 30 years. Get it there before the storm damage comes in.

I missed the part about having already been there. No shit.
