It has been a very long 8 months, and God only knows how much longer to go. For those that didn't see the other threads I started in January, I'll give as quick a synopsis as I can. My father-in-law had a heart attack on December 18th, and has had a battle on his hands since. Mid January, he had infection set in his incision from bypass surgery. After almost 2 weeks of being sedated and having his sternum removed, the doctors started waking him up. Around mid February, he was transferred to a rehab facility in Mt Pleasant, and finally came home on May 25th. Since then, he has been in the hospital 6 times for various issues, and is currently in the hospital.
His current hospital visit, which started last Wednesday, came about because of sores on his feet and legs. They are being caused by poor circulation because of blockages in both legs. He is being transferred to another facility tonight, or in the morning, once a bed is available there. Once the blockages are taken care of, then he will have surgery on one of his feet, to "clean it up." Once all of this is done, we're not sure if he will come home or go to rehab. This has been a very difficult time for his family, especially my wife. She has spent the vast majority of nights right beside him, through all of this. One thing that I can tell you with 100% certainty is that the body can take a lot more than the mind can.
If y'all could say a prayer for them, it would be greatly appreciated.
