    Default bird ID

    After reading 2th's post I got one also. Its a dark grayish to black bird with yellow legs. I have seen one a my pond in my backyard a few times and I saw one on a pond at the club sunday. Been googling but cant find what I have seen.

    about that size but no colors like that green heron
    It’s just solid black
    Flies off and lands in trees

    just looked up a gallinule. The common gallinule is the closest thing I have seen

    your immature herons - black-crowned, yellow-crowned, and green, all get pretty plain brown/gray but with yellow legs.
