    Default Dual battery set up

Doing some preventative maintenance on the boat time to replace the house battery and really want to go with one of the gel 31 group Duracell batteries… But my other battery is a normal diehard (sears) 27 group battery.

Ok to mix group and battery types? Or just go ahead and change both out… Normal two position Perko switch set up

If I am running I parallel or series, I like the same battery.

If used individually ( switch on 1 or 2, not both) I don't see the need for matching. Buy another Duracell next year.

Replace both at once. Regular Interstate is about the best you can ask for, 3-4 years and replace. In the grand scheme of things batteries aren’t that expensive when you consider their importance to your boat.

Yeah, but do you consider a dog to be a filthy animal? I wouldn't go so far as to call a dog filthy but they're definitely dirty. But, a dog's got personality. Personality goes a long way.
