If you want to make a rod turning gig for rotating it while the epoxy dries, find an old broken microwave oven and salvage the dish rotating motor. It turns around 8 rpm. I have one I made into a fly drying gig and I can also use it with my rod wrapping gig.

My son and I completed one on Monday evening. I used ole card board box is a rod jig, and bow string serving tool. Worked pretty good with the Mud Hole Epoxy Kit.

Ditto. The hardest part was figuring out which guide I needed to keep a match. Mud hole has a plethora of choices. $14.95 total for thread, guide and epoxy packet including $6.95 shipping that was more for the two big old catalogs they included. Still a cheap fix on an otherwise useless rod.
