Gone 3 years but not forgotten
Thought about Rhett today taking my girl to camp. I sure miss that fella.
I think about him alot. The picture of him with the long bow reminds me of when he taught Little Rubberhead to shoot instinctively. He kept him supplied with arrows and targets. What a great guy. I don't know how he had enough time to affect so many lives. It's almost supernatural.

They broke the mold when they made that one...
That’s a funny statement right there jab. I thought when I first met him that the mold wasn’t finished when he was created.
He for sure was a great fella. The world is a little better because of his life and how he lived it.
I am a nobody, that met somebody, that can save anybody.
Hard to believe it's been 3 years already.
I don't need my name in the marquee lights....
Sorry to all of you that were close to him. We were in Forestry together at Clemson, and was recently out of the Army. He seemed old, but in actuality, only 4 or 5 years ahead of me. I didn’t know him well, but I remember him working hard. And he was a smart ass to all. He and Dr. Shain, great Forestry professor who taught at CU for over 40 years, use to have great back and forths. Good for y’all keeping his memory current.
I still see glimpses in my everyday life. It is funny how my 8 year old will tell me occasionally about him seeing or hearing from Uncle Rhett. I shed a tear Saturday night when Rhett's brother played "Only the good die young."
I was unpacking a box of random ammo yesterday and found a baggie of pistol rounds Trad had given me after a comment about not being able to find any. RIP...
I went through my phone the other day and cleaned out old texts. I found the pages of texts between him and I. I couldn't bring myself to delete that. I read them. Shed a tear. And kept that to remind me what a great friend he was from the moment we were paired as partners during Bike Week the first time I met him. Over 20 years ago.

I long gunned him on a mottled one morning at the Cape, and he cussed me laughing the whole time. It was a perfect moment.
As good a dude as you'd be blessed to know.

That was a great day...

Indeed it was.
True to form, that's the offending mottled. Laughing at getting got.
