My pay check went up, but hen I lost a $3m order because of the tariffs so my commission will go way down. The tariffs are shit. Even with the tariffs the us will not be able to compete

Don't you get it? Our money has been leaving the US to both allies and enemies because they tariff our goods but we've haven't properly reciprocated. President is just leveling the playing field. It seems like the entire world is reacting negatively because so many were happy with American gradually weakening itself. That has changed. The markets will adjust. There will be both good and bad as businesses learn to deal with the new reality but, ultimately, America will come out stronger because of it. It is sound global policy from President Trump.

What’s funny is that some of the mills starting up are buying Chinese pipe and valves to repair the systems because the domestic PVF is too expensive. Go figure

I agree with this. But until the markets settle...this sucks.

A free market would also adjust.

And, we wouldn't be pissing the neighbors off.

It wasn't a free market - that was my point.

Our neighbors will come around (with their hands out like they always do...)

I also agree with this but don’t think it’s plausible.

So what happens when consumers can't afford to buy stuff from this "level" playing field? I don't trust China. But I don't trust Trump either.

Trump actually suggested doing away with all tariffs at their meeting, but other countries didn’t like that idea.
