    Default Vance Break Away Plate

Does anyone have experience with the gen2 break away plate from Vance?

It seems like a good design with the option for more vertical adjustment than the cmc, but I'm curious about durability and if the tension adjustment performs as advertised.

This will be going on an 08 xpress 16.

I'm considering this option ilo of a cmc breakaway with manual jack plate.

I do not have first hand experience with this unit but Vance isn't new to the biz so I wouldn't have many reservations on going with one of their products. I've had one of their jack plates and it performed as desired so I would expect this unit to hold up just as well as any of their other stuff.

Delta in a nutshell: Breeding grounds + small wetlands + big blocks of grass cover + predator removal + nesting structures + enough money to do the job= plenty of ducks to keep everyone smiling!

Bobs Machine just unveiled their BA/jackplate combo too.
    Check it out.

I have one on my boat. They are built well and work like they should. Call the factory and order the boys that make them answer and are knowledgeable. Seem like good guys..

I got one. I have ran both the CMC and Vance. I like Vance over the CMC because of the adjustments and the quality. Ed Vance answered the phone when I called to place the order which is rare. Vance and BMS combo breakaway and hydro plate is the shit if you would like to drop the coin. If installing on a new boat or drilling new holes mount it on the motor first then c-clamp it to the transom and mark the holes.

I've got one on my 653 Havoc, works great. Adjustments work as advertised. Only down side is it's not going to give you as much set back as double stacking will, so I made an additional 3" set back plate to add to it.
