"Shame on me" comment directed to another poster, sorry for any confusion. I was agreeing with you on the no pay thing, should have said "I" worked and it was expected when I was a kid.

Nicely done. Can't start them out too high. Then they have no room for advancement. My son is 14 now and I work him like a rented mule in the summer.

To this day my daddy is the hardest boss man I've ever worked for and I'm thankful for it.

Gave him a raise last week. Now at $4 an hour. Ninth grader this year and JROTC platoon leader. Yes I am proud of him. Where did the time go?

Thanks fellas. He got in 3 plays in the last quarter last night, made a tackle and got in on another. They lost but you'd never know it looking at us.

Well I should have just kept my mouth shut and not bragged. We tangled up playing basketball at a church picnic last night. We went up for a rebound, his feet shot out from under him and landed flat on his back. Thankfully didn't bang his head on the asphalt but rammed his right elbow in the process. Emergency room visit ended up in a full arm splint with a suspected fracture till we can get him to an orthopedic doc tomorrow.

Splint came off Friday. No heavy stuff with the arm allowed for 4 weeks.
