Default Senate legalizes Hemp for agriculture

This could be big for farmers. The government dropped the ban and pushed farmers to grow in during WWII when they needed the products for the war effort. After the war is was banned again.

Senate passes legislation to legalize hemp as agricultural commodity

I don't know but it's used for all kinds of products from rope to fuel. People can't get high on it. During George Washington's time hemp was the largest crop in the colonies.

I've read that it makes better fiber for paper than pine trees and it's a yearly crop instead of a ten-twenty year crop. It will be interesting what effect this has on forestry.

What will keep the industrial hemp from becoming a noxious weed? I thought I've read that it grows wild in Oregon already.
