The topic of antelope as table fare has long fascinated me. I've eaten a bunch of it over the years and consider it to be my favorite big game animal as table fare. I know folks that have lived in central WY their entire lives that won't touch one with a ten foot pole. It's nuts to me. I would encourage anyone that gets one to get as much of it processed into steaks as possible. It is lean but can be as tender as the best filet if you don't over cook it. If you have folks eating that don't want the sage flavor or may pick up on it and react negatively, an hour in zesty italian will neutralize it and they'll think they are eating a kobe beef filet.

When you get ready to go give me a holler, and help as much with units as I can. OnX maps is worth every penny out there. It's a maze of public and private and nothing is marked. If you're willing to walk just a mile or so from the road you can have a great hunt. The landowners/ ranchers will try and bluff you off public till you pull out a GPS. Then they STFU and ride off grumbling. Antelope hunting is big business and they don't like freelancers a bit. But fuck them, that land belongs to you and me as just as much as them. WY has over 9 million public acres paid for by the American taxpayer that is landlocked, with no access.

I just got back from Wyoming. Darn things stand on the side of the road and look at you while you fumble with your camera..

Interesting fact: Pronghorn run much faster than anything that would like to eat them. Theory is that they evolved as the now extinct American cheetah's favorite prey. So now their speed is superfluous.

Give them a week of being shot at and the won’t stand there. But they are pretty dumb. FWIW I’ve never hunted anything as nervous as a SC whitetail that gets fucked with 4mos out of the year.

will do FLS. Thanks too. Ive got a few units in mind, some hard some easy to draw but would love all the help I can get. Probably going to be a solo trip. Waiting to hear back on a muzzleloader elk hunt in NM that I'm trying to make happen in dec.

I am up for a do it yourself hunt if anyone needs a companion. I'm doing a public land montana mule deer hunt, but would go back if the option was there.

Montana is about 100 percent. I have a good public spot if you don't mind walking.
