Nothing wrong with that. Hope you wear them out.

Start thinking about how you plan to cut/burn sections of the field.

And worst case you can replant it in wheat Oct 1.

This, we had a lot larger area so we left strips unplanted that we disced back up to give them a landing area. Its also a hell of alot easier to find downed birds.

Cut it as close to the ground as you can. Doves want clean ground where they can get grain and grit.

Same here, have not done a dove field since the old days of when you cut and plowed a field and threw out wheat

We plowed field that had big food plot for deer at Daughter/SIL farm and also cut some more strips in what we call teh upper field. Put out brown top couple weeks ago. Had one light rain on it and a huge storm this weekend so should be going good before long

Last year during deer season place had doves swarming like flies on stink and all of the place out there now

Hope it turns out good, got a few friends that we are going to shoot it along my my Son's FIL and my 3 1/2 yr old grandson, this is what I am looking forward to

Yours is looking good , hope it turns out great for you
